Operational goals are all about achieving more profit and assuring better future profits. As opposed to Sales goals - which are all about increasing revenue. Or R&D goals – which might focus on new product launches, or market segment growth.

So for a multinational you might focus on
* Achieving the lowest cost of production for both labor and materials.
* Managing raw material and component inventories at or below four turns per year (4 turns = a 90 supply of materials).
* Sourcing from supplier domestic to your manufacturing operations for more than 80% of your materials costs.

These are general operating goals for any business.
