I currently have a Treo in the US and will move to Europe soon. What would you recommend. I'm more interested in photos and keeping contacts. Mapping and internet use are also important. I'd also like to check email. I guess listening to music and watching television are the two things I really don't care about.

I will be using it mostly in Paris and sometimes in London.

It would also be nice if the phone worked with skype.

Hi Ted

There are a couple of things you can do
1) purchase a unlocked quadband phone from ebay before you leave. Most new unlocked quadband phones (like motorola) that you see on ebay are the European version so you will be be good to go in both London or Paris or any part of Europe. Plus it will still work if you come back to the States
2) Look at getting a unlocked Cingular 8525. This phone has everything and is setup for ALL European and North American technology. It even has wifi built in. This is the phone I would recomend. this is the phone I am getting myself also since I do spend time in both America and England Hope this helped
Cheers

You'll have to buy it in Europe because the frequencies are not the same, I bought myself one in the USA (living in Europe) and couldn't use it here.

Try getting one that you can carry around with you. They work pretty well. Sounds like you like pictures so get one with a "Camera".
