They instill discipline and it is impossible to succeed and discover lasting happiness without discipline.
As you do, so you learn. Some people leave home without knowing how to do laundry, cook a basic meal or even how to survive on their own because they never did the "work" of their lives themselves.
We are creatures of our habits. The more work we do as children helps us not "to mind" the daily chores as adults because practice makes perfect and we just do them naturally because we don't expect to be waited on or be able to lie around all day not doing anything.
By doing chores, we participate in the overall well-being of the family. This is just a small thing we can do for Mom and Dad who have to do so much for us. Chores also make us feel like an important part of the family because everybody else is relying on us to do what our job is.
Work gives us our dignity so in being faithful to our chores we have greater self-esteem than other kids who just hang out and amuse themselves.

For your 5 paragraphs, you will want to divide that into an introduction, three arguments, and a conclusion, a la:

(1) Introduction: state that chores are good for you, and *briefly* say each of your three main points

(2) Argument 1: why chores are good for you (1st reason)

(3) arg. 2

(4) arg. 3

(5) Conclusion: state again what you've already said, e.g. i think chores are good for you because arg1,2,3.

Depending on how in depth your essay is, in (2),(3), and (4), you may have to go into counter arguments, because it is persuasive, e.g.

arg. 1 then 'Some people say this is wrong because....but they are wrong in saying this because....'

Hope that helps.

I'm in 7th grade and I could only wish that we wrote more essays. Good luck and here's some help:
The basics about chores are:
that they make you a well rounded person
you learn the value of hard work
you learn to manage your time wisely
Frankly, you learn how to clean! (some kids have no idea... they sit on their butts all day and watch TV! Then when it's time to own a house, they're stuck!)
you learn to be self sufficient (clean up your own messes)
you learn obidience (to your parents)
