Contact Dell. You can find the specs on their website usually. FYI, over 95% of newer PC laptops can only have a max of 2GB of Ram, (2 - 1GB Ram Sticks, which is what I have at the moment.)

If you go to Dell's site, and find a past-models page, usually there is a listing of the hardware that comes with it, and the part on RAM it says 'upgradeable to' and a number of the maximum RAM allowable.

Crucial will tell you what you have in and what to get and how much. Also, it will EXPLAIN what and how to get memory too.

I always use the free service at kingston.com, it asks for you manufacturer and model then tells you what you can use
