Hey...I wanna see him do it! I saw Barry in the very early days of his carreer, playing at Candlestick. The Giants were down, so Bonds gets up and hits a huge home run. Later, in the game, they were down again, so Barry gets up and hits another home run. In the 9th inning, the Giants were really far behind, so Barry hits a grand slam and the Giants won the game.
The whole stadium was in awe..."Who IS this guy?"
Now, if that ain't a great baseball player, I don't know what is. BTW, this was way before his alleged steroid use, which is just a bunch of BS, IMHO. Baseball fans should be glad he's still in the game.

First, I would love to see Barry Bonds break the record. However, as for his attitude, he is Mr. Smiley and all happy when the cameras are on him. I have gone to spring training for the last three years, and I can't get so much as an autograph from him....only a scowl. But who really knows. I'm a huge fan and I will be at that game when he does finally break that record.

I don't think you are the only one, but you are one of the few. Personally, I don't want to see him break it.
You think that because Bonds's teammates say how great he is, that means they like him? Do you think they'd actually say "I can't stand him" or "I hate his arrogant guts"? Of course they are going to say they like him! They aren't going to "rock the boat" and start something. Do you remember two years ago when Bonds missed almost the whole season and his trainer came and kicked the rest of the Giants out of the weight room so Bonds could have it all to himself so he could train? How do you think his teammates liked THAT? Do you also remember when Jason Christiansen stood up to the trainer, that the trainer told Bonds who punched Christiansen in the face? Real nice guy. Of course the Giants made Christiansen say "nothing happened, I have no problem with Barry". If you really believe that all the Giants think Bonds is wonderful, great, and terrific, you need to wake up, my friend.

Adam...I want Bonds to break that record so bad. Some don't want him to do it because of his whole history with the steroids. But that was the past, Bonds apologized and has moved on from that phase. He is very old to still be playing in MLB and is trying so hard for the record, so I think he really deserves it. Hank Aaron made that record of 755 home runs in 1974. That's 33 years ago. We need a new home run leader and I think Bonds is the one to do it.
Besides, imagine how much that 756 ball will be worth on ebay. I can't wait.

I want Barry to break the record. I have been a Bonds fan since he was a Pirate, and now my favorite team is the Giants because he's there.

barry bonds was an incredible player before he took steroids whether intentionally or unintentionally, the media blows things way out of proportion and is completely one-sided on the issue. Even people who had never even heard of him or watch baseball at all think he is a steroid-abusing criminal. Nobody has proved that he has intentionally used steroids and should lay off of him. Also if he used them unintentionally, its not his fault and so once again you should lay off of him.
by the way, for people who are guessing i am a big giants fan, nope i dont like the giants whatsoever, astros fan for life....

yes u are. and you must be watching interviews that are produced by the giants org, cuz he is arrogant enuff to demand his own section of the locker room, whines about not getting enuff attention, gets busted for amphetamines and blames them on his teammate, and is a walking steroid besides. any friendly words you hear from them are because they are getting paid to work with him and its keeping a pleasant face on the front office to the press, its a team requirement

I'd like to see it done, because I like to see records broken. In fact, I was excited about the last home run he got last season, because it gave him 734, a new National League record. Just the same as I was excitied in 1998 when Mark McGwire got his 57th home run of the season, giving him a new National League single-season record, and then Barry's 73, for a new Major League record in 2001.
Although, even when he gets 755 and 756, I'll still be hungry for someone to break the WORLD record for home runs. The world record is 868.
And, there is still 1 very important home run record out there that no one ever thinks about. Roger Maris is still the single-season American League home run record holder. I don't know if there is currently an American Leaguer who is good enough to break his record of 61.

Bonds should get an asterisk. Steroids, smaller stadiums and weaker pitching due to expnasion.
Hammering Hank deserves his title.
