Iam tired of the Old 2 league system. I think they should set up 2 Conferences(Western & Eastern),Eliminated the DH,and set the divisions up geographically. Example; Western conf, Pacific divsion.;
LA Dodgers
LA Angels
SF Giants
Seattle
San Diego
Arizona,and
Oakland....and change the playoff format. Seed 1 vs 4 ,2 vs 3 in each conf. best of 7 in each series, and eliminate the Wildcard..what do U think?

I think your idea has a lot of merit. Like you I've never been a fan of the DH and would love to see it thrown out. The geographic realignment would be good for the game I think. I like the idea of seven games series as well. These five game series are a joke and should been removed. All in all I like what you're saying.

I'm down with any plan that preserves the integrity of the game and maintains the length of the current season. Changing up the divisions doesn't sound like it would hurt the game in any way, so I'm OK with that. Eliminating the DH? Well, the DH is an artificial AL creation anyway, so get rid of it. Your playoff plan might need a little work in order to be able to play all of the games before it starts snowing, but that could be handled easily by reducing the number of teams that make the playoffs.

Regardless of how things are changed, you know that it will get all screwed up in a few years when the teams start moving around again. As long as they keep playing the game on a diamond and they play for 9 innings with 3 strikes and 4 balls, I'm pretty OK with it.

Let's get past this spring training season and get on to the real deal!

I have been saying that for some time now. I think both leagues should merge and do things like the NBA. The only difference of course is that they shouldn't have16 teams in the playoffs and they should stay with the 8. They shouldn't eliminate the DH though. Pitchers suck at hitting!

Maybe not a bad idea.

But, what I'd really like to see, is for Major League Baseball to add 2 more teams to the American League. That way, both the National and American leagues will each have 16 teams.

If they do that, it will make it so that every team can have an inter-league opponent to play against during inter-league play, instead of always having to see 2 National League teams play each other, because there are 16 teams in the National League and 14 teams in the American League.

Don't think that would work, you would have too many teams that are too close to each other in direct competition. The Yanks and mets, A's and Giants, Dodgers and Angels, Cubs and White Sox . . . Its better to have two local teams that people can root for, if you change the league around people would become more divided. Plus I like the DH and If the national league wants to make their pitchers bat. . . let them.

I think it would be awesome, but it would never happen. "America's Pastime" is too steeped in "tradition" to ever let that happen.

I would definitely support a little bit of realignment between teams though. I believe there are some divisions with six teams, while other have four? That seems pretty stupid to me.

i do not think this is a good idea becauese there is no reason to reinvent the wheel. This system works and is fine leave it be. plus what would the teams be in the allstar game. also some areas have more teams so the confrences and/or divisions would be completly thrown off.

Too much history to change it this much. I mainly would like to see 2-4 teams eliminated.

Its an interesting idea, but the way things are set up now, I think the system works well. Personally, I see no need for such sweeping changes.

That should not happen.

There may be a couple of tweaks needed, but nothing major.

To eliminate the AL and NL would be foolish.
