this movie is about a reall historic event but it takes place in the way that the director prefer not historicans say. even the greek historicans confess that persian Empire was one of the most culturally and technologically developed civilizations in the ancient world. this movie does not insult persians only but all the history!

The movie is NOT historically accurate in most aspects. I do not think it was a slap in the face of the modern Persians aka the Iranians. I think it was a slap in the face of history. The story of the 300 is such an awesome story, that it did not need to be embellished or have Quasimodo added to it.

Oh I think the lack of historical correctness pretty much means this is a film that does not take accuracy as its strong suite.

There's no mention of Athens but once, there's no Themistocles or any other Greeks significantly fighting at Thermopylae, etc...

Its a work to entertain. More so its based off the Frank Miller comic book. I have seen it and while I disagree historically and think the Persians and all Greeks were misrepresented, that does not change its a film.

He knows just as much as he needs to know in Hollywood.

Just enough to sell it to the Executives.

After that it is like everything else in Hollywood - looks nice, but lacks in substance and won't stand up to even the slightest amount of scrutinizing.

Thank you for pointing it out for us uneducated masses who are continually bottle fed by Tinseltown.
