someone who labels themselves straight edge does not consume drugs or alcohol. there are even factions of straight edge people who refuse even medical drugs...such as tylenol for a head ache or an IV at the doctor. i'm not sure what they would do in case of surgery...i'm sure accept the drugs if it meant their life was at stake. it's a way of life such as being vegan...they believe in the purity of their body and want nothing to compromise that. my friend is straight edge and still goes to parties and has fun. he just skips the part of getting intoxicated...he perfers a natural high he says.

Used to describe a linear precision edge of anything tw or three dimensional.Also term used in visual arts for a ruler, but, does not have to have measuring references on it.

Straight edge is a thing that was made by rockers that don't do drugs, don't drink any type of alcohol, don't have sex(any type of sex)

term formed in the late seventies but klargely utilised through the early 80's into early 90's to describe punkers who chose not to participate in drinking, drugs, smoking or casual sex.. The term came from a Monior Threat song... some took these to violent extremes, mos8t did not... marked by three large black x's, or one large X on the back of their hand....

Straightedge, also seen as sXe, is someone who doesn't do drugs, drink booze, or have promiscious sex.
Most sXe people will draw x's on their hands to recognize eachother.
