Due to child labor laws, you'd have to get jobs like babysitting, dog walking, raking leaves, helping out around the house, etc. It's not very steady and usually doesn't pay a lot, but it's something!
Personally, I don't think any 12 year old should have a job beyond household chores and school work. Twelve is so young, why would you want to do anything but have fun? Jobs can wait until you're at least 16.

Hi! Boy, am I glad you asked!
1. At twelve, the perfect job is to start your own small company. Do not buy any "opportunities". Do NOT go to any websites for survey or other so-called work! (You will have data dumped into your computer, you are too young to understand or consent to the terms and conditions, and have no knowledge to draw upon. Even the pros have to sort out the bad guys from the worse).
Dig IDEAS up out of your own mind. Look at your own talents, likes and dislikes. Ask yourself what is the thing you like the **Best About** the thing you like), and consider that as one of the things you can do. Get together with your friends or family about what talents each of you have, and, together, brainstorm ideas of how to use your talents. No idea is silly--all ideas should be totally open to discussion (you never know where a silly idea will lead). Evaluate what your true resources are (youth and a huge supply of energy, many multi-talented, young, energetic friends, a supportive family that will help you sort things out and make them work, school counselors, the WWW, your or a friend's computer for printing needs, the Service Corps Of Retired Executives....you get the idea!).
2. READ Napoleon Hill's "Think, and Grow Rich", a small, small big book that, for many years, (millionaires and other wealthy--read; happy) people have sworn by.
3. Follow the instructions in the book. When you're older, you will see huge results from the effort, both in what started as your little company, and your life.
Someone said, "Go as far as you can see, and when you get there, you will be able to see further."
Good luck!

What's your neighborhood like? I had a couple jobs at eleven years old. They were yard work sorts of jobs- lawn mower, wood chopper, weed puller, etc. Old people who don't like/can't go out in the sun often enjoy paying teens to do some odd jobs around the house.

Babysitting is correct, under us child labor law you have to be 15 to work, unless it's a family owned business. It's supposed to be your family running the business but I found one that would take me in and it worked out great.
