Hi you can start your claim straight away but you wont get any money for 2 weeks. You can go in or just phone the number you can get off the job center website. If you go in a centre near you you will only have to use there phones and sometimes it loud and you cant hear the person on the other end, So do it at home. Just say to the person you are talking to that you have just been let go from your job and that you wish to claim job seekers. Then they will ask you a few questions have your national insurance number ready if you have it as they will likley ask you for it. They will then give you a date and a time and you will have to be in your house on this date and the times you have been given as a person will ring you to go through more things, after you have spoken to this person you will then have to wait a day or to, and then you get a letter of all the questions the person asked you on the phone and then you must go through them and make any changes and then send it back. There should be a letter in the pack you get and it should tell you to go and see your advisor and take your P45,if you have got it back and very importantly your bank details which can be used as another form of ID like your address, but they can get it when you do, and you need a proof of address. They may give you a form to fill in about why you left you job, but this will be fine. Then you will get a book with your day and time you need to go and sign on every two weeks. There they will also make you a jobseekers agreement that you have to stick to or your money get stops. It just what your going to do to find work and the type of work your looking for. Then you will sign a bit of paper and your money will be in your bank 3 days after you have signed that piece of paper.
Depending on what age you are depends on what you get.

18-24 is £45.50
24-35 i think is £53.50 i dont know the rest.

Also you will have a review very 13 weeks if you havent found work to renew your agreement. and then after 6 months you will start newdeal.

But if you find work all you do it sign off which you do with the little book with a sperate card book inside. They will tell you what to do if you find work .

Hope this helps

You have to have been out of work for 26 days...or is that 26 weeks...!? I can't remember, sorry.

You just need to go to the job centre and they'll talk you all through it. It's a rubbish amount, about £40 per week, and you need to go and "sign on" each week/fortnight and show proof that you've been looking for work etc. And if they find you a job, you'll have to take it, or you'll lose your money. I think it's far easier to look for work yourself, you'll probably find a job much quicker than it would take for you to be granted JSA anyway, cos there is definitely a waiting period before they'll pay out.

Sorry to hear you've lost your job. You should go to your jobcentre and ask for a job-seekers allowance form. Fill it out and return it to them, you will then be given an appointment to see a benefit advisor, who will go through the form with you. They will tell you what to do from then on. You could even be able to claim tax back that you've paid in your previous job, it depends on you allowance level and how much you've paid.

A tip for help with any debts you may have, contact your creditor explaining you've just lost your job and offer them a monthly amount you can realistically afford to pay. Many companies are very good if you tell them straight away and will be willing to work with you.

if your employer has let you go or sacked you then you should claim jsa straight away. if you resigned then you will not be able to claim right away if you do not have good cause for leaving.
the going rate at the minute is £45. but if you are part of a couple you will have to do it joint. make a claim right away coz it can take a few weeks for them to sort it out they are useless down there lol.

No you can't just go down to the job centre to claim - the priliminary claim is made over the 'phone, (look up Benefits in 'phone book) then they give you a time and date to go to the job centre, where you'll have to fill in forms.

i do no longer understand how that's in the different worldwide places yet right here in the US your infant must be born until you could now declare the credit... whether the child is born on december 31... as long as that's born until now the 12 months is over you get the credit for that 12 months... so while you're pregnant now you would be waiting to declare the child on next years taxes... desire this helps
