The rg-6 cable that the installer provided is to short so the stand supporting the dvr was moved is too close to tv. I need at least a foot of space between the tv and the stand for a surround sound speaker. I looked into radio shack and they have longer cords. My question is if i were to get another rg-6 cord a foot longer than the one i got now, would the picture and sound quality degrade or will it be exactly the same?

Hi dmb_fan11

Missy is correct. You will not have any degradation with another foot of cable.

It shouldnt change. I got a 200ft rg6 cable hooked up to my hd dvr and the picture is great. My sattilite dish is on the other side of the house. Since its digital you wont loose picture or sound quality if it was analog it would probably show. But not 1 ft or 2.

it form of seems such as you will desire to have qualified for a loose improve or some thing. i'm no longer likely beneficial approximately dish community's rules nevertheless. possibly you will desire to offer them yet another call and notice if somebody can waive the cost. i think it relies upon on how long you have had the amenities and while you're a marvelous shopper paying on time and stuff like that. i'm exceptionally beneficial they have specific deals and promotions each and each of the time. call them and ask the splendid questions and notice what they arise with. good success!!!

i work for dish and it will not affect the picture. so u wont have to pay for the cable it's self just call dish back and tell them the technician left the cable too short and they should send someone out to replace the whole cable or just add an extension. and they shouldnt charge u anything. good luck!!!
