If it were a date with someone with a mind as awesome as yours! Ice picks are awesome. If they need to scrape ice off their car, they would then have the perfect tool!!
Just watch out for breaking any windows...

Sharp or pointy objects are always a good gift on a first date, it's like giving roses with the thorns on them.......nice.

I think an axe is better for a first date. It's thoughtful and quite practical, while not being too over the top.
