If your using it for light gaming you should be fine. anything above that your probly going to want to build your self. I have a dell that i am upgrading with after market parts so that is always an option. If your buying a intel dell try for a c2d (core 2 duo) and 1-2 gigs of memory.

I have a Dell, and for the most part, it's been very good. Just be aware that their tech support is pretty awful; it's all located in Bangalore, India, and the techs are just reading stuff off a screen (if they can speak English at all). If the problem deviates from what's in their database, you're going to be S.O.L., so don't pay extra for any extended support. If you have a problem with your machine after the date that your warranty expires, take it to someplace local (I do my own work because that happens to be what I do for a living). The only time I've had to contact Dell was when the CD drive quit working just a few days after I got my machine, and they shipped another to me, which I replaced myself. They did their best to get me to send the machine to them for a 5-minute repair, which was nuts - it was clear that the tech I was talking to had ZERO idea how to swap the drive. Other than their non-existent support, it's a good machine. I haven't done much in the way of internal upgrades, as I have one of the slimline cases that doesn't accept full-height PCI cards, but there's always USB.

dell is not bad...though a year ago I bought a new dell and have had problems with it ever since. First one I have had so many problems with though.
