My polydactyl (many-toed) cat is the best traveler EVER! He has logged in many hours on the road and is very good in motel rooms. We use one of those soft carriers (Rubbermaid) with the strap handles, and he feels right at home in the car. The reason he has to travel with us is that he is spoiled and too scared to stay with anybody but us.
Our dog is real good too.His main problem is that he is so big that he hardly fits in the car.

I have to tell you that they were very good recently.
I had to drive from So.Ca. to Alabama late June of last year. My dog doesn't like anyone else but me and my friend did the trip w/me so after the second day my dog slithered up into my friends lap so she could be close to me but by the look on her face she barely could stand it at all. My bird was pretty good too.

Good little road warrior, just like the kids. They all jump at a chance to go bye-bye and flap there noses out the window.

my dog is awesome when it comes to road trips. we take him for car rides all the time. he either looks out the window or just curls up in my lap and falls asleep. He's such a good dog.

I'm sorry my pets don't travel with me but I would assume it just takes good puppy/kitty training.
