Well, I was thinking of chucking some decent but stale bread and veggies into the creek for the wildlife here in the NorthEast (I'm from Long Island and I have no clue up here- yet! :-) )
So, what can I toss and what do i have to send to the dumps to pile up?
Thanks!

Also, what I'm asking is- are whole baby carrots going to be a choking danger, or do birds generally know what to avoid?

I used to work at a wild life park and learned that bread is a big no no! It expands in their stomachs. They will eat untill they are full then the bread expands risking a ruptured stomach. NO BREAD. Toss it in the trash instead. As for carrots, they will probably peck at it or squrrels will eat them (or other members of the rodent family like coons or rats). You'd be better off throwing seeds and nuts (no salt or flavors) out for them.

ok, veggies and fruit are good for birds but, if the bread is moldy dont give it to the birds. moldy bread will make them sick.
