Many people say so and I agree with them!

Family Guy beats out Futurama in the comedy department simply because FG can make anything funny (like the time Peter forgot how to sit down). However, the last season of Futurama, when the show turned into a dramatic comedy, provided some of the best cartoons I have ever seen. "The Sting," (when Leela falls into a coma from being stung), is still my all time favorite cartoon episode...better than anything I've seen on Family Guy, The Simpsons, etc.

I would normally agree with that, that Family Guy is far better. I've never really gotten into Futurama at all. However, with the way Family Guy is going these days, I've become sort of bored with it. Some of the jokes are rehashed too much, like awful long, uncomfortable pauses. Or musical numbers. If they'd cut back on those, Family Guy would rock again! Still, better than Futurama though.

The two aren't really comparable. A fairer comparison would be between "Family Guy" and "The Simpsons". "Simpsons" is in the same genre as "Family Guy", while the only thing "Futurama" has in common with FG is that they're both animated.

"Simpsons" is definitely more original. Peter is a pretty close rip-off of Homer and Lois and Marge are almost identical characters. On the whole, FG is usually funnier.

All that aside, Futurama kicks EVERYBODY's butt.

Family Guy owns Animation Domination!! Futurama couldn't hold up lighter to Family Guy. The comedy is what makes a difference.

We All Know Family Guy is the ONE.

Futurama.....yeah right....

Family Guy relies on spontaneous stupidity to get most of their laughs, coupled with pop culture references

Futurama pokes fun of the future, as seen through old sci-fi movies and TV shows from the 50's and onwards, and uses social problems of today in a futuristic setting, and also attempts to explore the unknown in it's own comic way

I personally like both shows, but I feel Futurama has a larger rewatchability factor to it, alot of Family Guy gags are really funny the first time around, but get really annoying the 3rd or 4th time.
