No, because the ones who are obvious are not the ones you need to worry about.

Those we need to worry about will not be announcing their intentions by looking and acting obviously middle eastern.

How old are you? do you remember when all the Japanese Americans were placed in concentration camps during world war II when the US went to war with Japan? This was done by our government, our people. What about McCarthyism and that type of mentality?

Your kind of thinking makes this world a darker place!

As an American, I think they have the right to pray for safety before their trip. I know I pray for traveling mercies to God before traveling... however, it's also my right to be scared to death to fly with them. That's not unconstitutional.

I don't care if they're white, black, Arab, or perhaps not even Muslim. And yes, I'm a Republican. That has nothing to do with my race, and everything to do with my values for the ignorant person who stated that Republicans only value the rights of white people.

I think if I were a Muslim and/or someone of Middle Eastern descent, I'd understand that most people in the world are going to think twice when they see me step on a plane with them, the same as I'd understand if the Japanese freaked if they saw another American B-52 flying over any of their major cities. It's called "association" and it's cognitive; you can't help it anymore than you can will your heart to stop beating.

I don't think it's the same as yelling "fire", but it certainly gives you something to sweat over. My suggestion? Ask if they'd mind if you prayed with them. Or is that un-Republican of me?

My immediate thought is that they have bombs strapped on and plan to blow up the plane. What they did was also a form terrorism. If they intended no harm or didn't want to cause any fear, they would have dressed in western garb and not prayed in public.

Keep your eyes open but ignore what you see....it borders on insanity. Wear a target and then complain because someone notices. Sorry....to me it is drawing undo attention and I'm sick of catering to people who have no respect for why it causes Americans some understandable reason for fear. We are still at war there....if there's any understanding....it might be nice if they extended it. If 9/11 hadn't happened and if we hadn't been pounded with hate threats and such....no-body would have probably thought twice about it. But we have, we are, we know they are here.....so the fear is justified.

The whole thing was a set up by the mullahs. I smell a rat no matter which way you cut it. Yes, its the equivalent of yelling fire in a crowded theater.

Well, being the redneck that I am. I think after prayer time, I would just have a talk with them...I would nicely explain that this is not the right plane for pulling something. Then, when I got off the plane safely, I would profusely apologize to them, and give them each 5 bucks.

PS - Republicans don't believe that non-whites don't have rights. We just don't think our constitution applies to non-citizens.

No, it's not.
Muslims are required to pray five times a day.
Beyond that, most of us are superstitious and pray before, during and after we land on a plane.

Right you are, Ken. I believe what the airline did was proper. This whole episode smelled like a set-up for a law suit from the very beginning. I hope it gets kicked out of court.

No, they were middle aged Muslim clerics saying their prayers. The people who cried "fire" were the ones who reported them. The courts will determine if they have a cause of action. The hearings will have interesting issues and facts.
