Is there anything you need to do to a half whiskey barrel before planting flowers in it?
What I mean is...the smell of whiskey coming from a whiskey barrel is so strong, it seems like it would be toxic to the plants!
Does it affect them in any way?

I the barrel new sufficient to sniff boozy it could additionally carry water. if so drill some drain holes. i've got got here across that putting 6 or 8 empty 2 liter soda bottles in the barrel reduces the quantity of potting soil and for this reason weight. If utilising it for timber, shrubs or perennials leave the bottles out. The residual booze wont harm your plant life besides the shown fact that it would placed a grin on there faces. RScott
