Well first id like to say that all of these people saying that its the "roids" and he "shoots up all the time" didnt look very deep into the matter and apparently like speaking about things that they learned nothing about.
Shawn Merriman has amazing football intelligence hes smart, quick, strong and did i say he was smart? He is a difference maker in the defensive backfield and can stop most of the best running backs dead in their tracks, he can also step back and cover receivers which isnt an attribute you can give to most LB's his size. Shawn Merriman has always been a great LB he just finally got the chance to explode when he came to San Diego and they took full advantage of his abilities.

to everyone that says that MErriman has good hand eye coordination, smart and that the 'roids didn't do much to make him great, have you seen the guy in coverage? i mean he seems to lack the ability to know where to put his hand during the pass. he lacks the ability to filter out the RB instead he tries to get the RB, and in the end opens up holes. he's really good at speeding around the OL with stunts the DL pulls. have you ever seen the guy talk about the 3-4 scheme he's in. it is not as though that he the one doing all the pulling and stunting, he's taking direction from the ILBs.
think about waht does make him great, he has strenth and speed to move around the OL in which is being confused by the DL. and yes strenth does come from 'roids, the 'roids made him this good.

A "grate" is something you barbecue on. Steroids had a lot to do with Merriman being a "great" OLB.

Grate? Do you mean great? Well the roids probably helped. We'll see what he does this year and if he can stay drug free and still maintain the level. I doubt it.

He is "great" because he is on that "human growth sauce". He is overrated and cocky and he smells funny (don't know from personal experience, but he looks nasty. HAHA B*TCH!!). HE DOES NOT DESERVE TO WEAR THE NUMBER 56!! Only good linebackers should be able to wear that number!! Peace out Charger b*tches!!! BRONCOS 4 LIFE B*ITCH!!!
