the first person to wear in a way that was actually considered stylish was James Dean in Rebel Without a Cause. The trend of wearing a T-shirt outside of the house instead of a form of sleepwear/underwear was started by him as a rellebious trend to fit the movie and started the whole trend of the T-shirt. I didn't exactly answer the question, but I hope that I helped.

It was first worn by Rudyard kipling.
