I already have a Bachelor's, but I want to go back and get certified to teach in Texas. Does anyone know of any financial aid that is available for future educators? I imagine with the need for teachers there should be more than just loans for us who want to teach. Can someone help! Please!
Thank you

Dallas area has Region 10 in which is similar to the previous poster. They pay for you and you work for them for a predetermined number of years. But it is also on the job training so you get to teach while being certified.

I don't know where you are but here in west Texas we have the Region 18 Education Service Center. Every region may have one.
If you have a bachelors degree, you can go to Region 18 to get your teaching certificate. The program costs about $4000. You have to pay $700 up front, and then they take the rest out of your first years salary. They can place you in a job while you are going there where you can teach for up to two years without your certificate.
I think that if you sign up for subjects that Texas considers to have critical shortages of teachers, you may get to go cheaper...I don't really know.

This may not be exactly the information you are looking for, but it is a way for those with bachelors to get their certificate without going back to college.
