When my sister and I were younger, I had a picture book about twin monkey's. One was a boy, one was a girl, and the parents go out for the evening and hire a sitter. The babysitter gets preoccupied with the telephone and boyfriend so the twins take advantage of the situation. They make banana milkshakes but forget to put the top on the blender, they take a bubble bath with way way WAY too much soap, and other little misceivous things like that. We read it over and over and over until we lost it when we moved.

I have been looking for that book for probably ten years, and four years ago my older sister had boy-girl twins. I want to say that the title had "trouble" in it, but I have not been able to find it. I have tried googling parts of the book that I remember, looking at used book lists online, but I have had no luck. I would be indebted to whoever helps me find this book!

How about this one?

The best little monkeys in the world /
Natalie Standiford; Hilary Knight
1987
English Book : Fiction : Juvenile audience 48 p. : col. ill. ; 23 cm.
New York : Random House, ; ISBN: 039488616X (pbk.) : 9780394886169 (pbk.) 0394986164 (lib. bdg.) : 9780394986166 (lib. bdg.)
"Two little monkeys get into mischief while the oblivious babysitter chatters to her friends on the telephone. They coat the kitchen with blender-propelled banana shakes and run the bathtub over but clean up before their parents return. The text reads smoothly, and Knight's illustrations are lively and funny. For independent reading, and appropriate for library easy-reader collections."

Incidentally, the illustrations from this book are done by Hilary Knight, the same man who illustrated the "Eloise" books.
