In any movement there are always radicals and moderates. The two don't always agree with each other, either. The militants are generally out for female superiority as I understand it. The rest strive for equality between the sexes. Personally, I think the radical ones who use the word "womyn", condemn motherhood, and claim all sex is rape are nutjobs. But that's just my own opinion.

Feminism is the belief that women are equal to men. They believe that the patriarchy is the system that oppresses women and that until this system is abolished, women will be oppressed.
Militant feminsts are the radicals. "Militant" is actually a pejorative term referring to radicals. Just like the Fundamentalist Christian Right Wingers are radicals for Christianity so too are they.
The beliefs are similar however, militant feminists might go about getting their message across more boldly.
There is no such thing as a supremacist feminist. That is not a feminist. Feminists are NOT women who believe they are better, simply equal. Men are feminists too.
Yes there are some women who believe they are better than men and who hate men. But this is not a belief of feminism.
There are also Christians who hate blacks and believe in white supremacy...

If the real feminists are the ones that believe in true equality, then they are against almost all women labelling themselves as feminists, the national organisation for women, the domestic violence advocacy movement, most feminist authors and most feminist thought.
Of course, militant feminists like to say they are about true equality and it is "other" feminists that are militant.
Basically impossible to tell until they open their mouths and talk about policy, then all that's needed is analysing what they say critically - a step fewer and fewer people are leaving out these days, hence why feminism is getting such a bad name.

Feminists can be categorized in one of two ways: Egalitarian (liberal) or supremacist (militant). The former advocates full gender equality while the latters is considerably more anti-male. Examples of egalitarian feminists are myself and Susan Faludi. Examples of supremacist feminists are Baba Yaga and Andrea Dworkin.

The regular feminists are the dupes--it sounds good.
Now the militant feminists are those who claim that consensual sex within marriage is rape (Catharine McKinnon, I think). They say that heterosexuality is sexism--like it's a bad thing (of course, being a woman, I'd choose a man, duh).
