Don't worry about it what you probably have is an infection, NOT A YEAST INFECTION, yeast infections don't smell they itch burn and have nasty discharge. Go to the doctor you need to be looked at and after your done you will feel proud of yourself. I had it, they give you a perscription pill, then maybe after you saw the doctor they will tell you to use a at home yeast infection treatment, but only when your doctor tells you. You probably got it from sweat and moisture build up and tight clothing (thongs don't help, just clean well and wipe discharge from your panties during the day). Hope I helped.

Absolutely, do not do any home remedies. It sounds like you might have a bacterial infection and while that isn't an STD, it can cause problems, least of which is the smell. You'll need to go to the doctor where they may do a culture, and then they'll probably prescribe antibiotics.
I wouldn't worry about the doctor looking down there. They do that all the time, and as long as you are comfortable with your doctor it shouldn't be a big deal. You'll be just fine, you'll survive the experience, and it will get easier to have the doctor look at you as you get older. It's never fun, but it's not that bad. Good luck.

Sounds like a bacterial or yeast infection. But this must be diagnosed by a doctor. Do NOT try to treat yourself at home and definitely do not douche. You don't know what you have and treating yourself for the wrong thing will probably make it worse. Just remember the longer you wait the more damage it could do. So just tell your mom (or dad) that you need to go to a gynocologist and be honest with them. They might be a little weirded out, but it will mean a lot that you ask for their help. Parents, especially moms, like to know what is going on, plus you're on their insurance.
Good Luck and be brave... I know it can be scary.

I know exactly how you feel.
Hi, I'm Catalina, and i THINK i have a yeast infection too.
I've always thought it was completely normal until i found out what a yeast infection was. I don't even know what i actually have.
i don't want to tell my parents, and i've NEVER been sexually active. Because i'm only thirteen.
I have no idea what to do either, and i am also sef-concious about a doctor looking down there and what kind of doctor would be needed to treat these symptoms?
I just want it to go away, so i can live a normal life. =/

Best thing to do is go to the doctor! I'm 20 and freaked out about going to "that" kind of doctor! All my friends kept telling me its not a big deal just go. I got it over with and felt really stupid because it was nothing, no big deal! It is a quick and painless visit! Talk to your mom. I know its really embarrassing, but you have to! You're not a doctor and you can't let people on Yahoo give you answers on whats wrong with you. Only a doctor can do that! Trust me, go to the doctor. And keep in mind with the doctor, they have seen it all. They have seen someone a billion times worse then you and they don't care, its their job! Good luck! :)

It might be a bacterial infection in your urinary tract. The discharge, is it when you urinate or uncontrollable? Drink more fluids, such as water, cranberry juice, or apple juice. This will dilute the fluids in your blood stream and lead to less concentrated urine. If it is a urinary tract infection, you should see a doctor and drink more fluids before it starts to get painful when you urinate.

i would just like to disagree with the suggestion to clean really well with soap and water. don't. soaps tend to irritate your vagina and in a healthy one, is usually the cause for a yeats infection. You sound like you have bv and I would recommend seeing a gynecologist. If you're worried ask your mom to go with you. And if you can ask for a female doctor. and relax.

You should go get checked out. Don't feel too bad because everyone feels uncomfortable when seeing the "down there" doc. But it is really the best thing that you should do.

You absolutely HAVE to go to your doctor now. You may have a disease that can cause infertility, and it sounds like trichomoniasis, although it may be something else. Put aside any fears before it gets worse!
