I think they were before and even more so now with Geurin. It all depends on what kind of goaltending they get. If one of the goalies gets hot (in Nabokov's case, stays hot) then they have a good chance.
As for the no chants of no D, I personally think that McClaren/Carle/Hannan/Erhoff/ Rivet/Vlasic and company is a pretty good core of DMen.

they were a championship quality team before, acquiring guerin and rivet makes them better. defense is a small problem because they are young but it shouldnt be too big of a problem. as weird as it sounds, the sharks need to improve on the pp and offense because there are times when they just cannot score and their pp isnt executed right. and nabokov and toskala have to be great in the postseason.

Possibly. If they play solid D, and get A+ goaltending from Nabokov, I wouldn't see why Guerin & co. couldn't hoist the Cup.

No they were a championship level team before, but Anaheim is better anyway, it'll come down to who plays when they meet in the playoffs.
