Is a televised sporting event considered reality tv, like survivor or the biggest loser?

I think that a televised sports event like the superbowl, or a hockey game is considered reality tv. Therefore sports events would be the first such reality show around. Contrary to the Real World, which is considered the first (I think).
Sports has real people playing it, It is not scripted, there is a winner and they make money (although more money than the straight 1 million dollar prize on Survivor). that in my definition is reality tv.

I agree with what your definition of what reality tv should be, and most of the formulaic, scripted shows that tout themselves as "Reality" are not, in fact, reality. However, I think sporting events are just that-sporting events.
