The Allied powers worked together by coordinating their military efforts to assist each other in a common goal. England, Russia and the US all agreed to make the defeat of Germany the top priority. They also coordinated where and when to attack and their armies often fought side by side.

Italy was taken down almost as soon as the Allies landed on the Italian penninsula itself. The Italian government collapsed and Mussolini was removed from power. The Germans quickly moved in and took over whatever land the Allies hadn't already conquered and continued to fight till the bitter end.

Germany was conquered from both sides by the combined armed forces of Russia, England and the US. They fought hard and well, but were simply too outnumbered and had materiel shortages.

Japan was defeated through a combination of factors. First, the Japanese army never retreated, even when they really should have. Instead they fought to the last man, even reinforcing positions that were untenable. As a result, they lost huge numbers of troops that could have fought elsewhere. The Navy was only a little better in this regard early in the war. The other factor was the US submarine campaign was hugely successful in cutting Japan off from vital natural resources. The Japanese home islands are not particularly resource rich, and claiming these resources had been the primary reason they went to war in the first place. In contrast their enemy was the single greatest industrial power of it's time and easily out stripped them in production.

Germany's downfall: Foolishly launched a land war on two separate fronts. Unbelievable.

Japan's downfall: Did not have sufficient materiel resources to coninue a sustained war on such a huge front. Underestimated USA's determination and ability. Quote from Admiral Yamamoto: We have awakened a sleeping giant.

first of all, there have been dissimilar fronts as you have heard from different solutions. Out of all fronts of the conflict, shall we would desire to declare the jap front became the bloodiest because of the actuality that the Russians threw hundreds of thousands into conflict and fought longer than any of the allied forces. and finally, maximum folk don't comprehend this however the Axis forces have been prevailing in WW2 earlier the people entered the conflict. while the people, British, and Canadians invaded on June 6, 1944, the conflict became a clean leaf. And became positioned to an end on September 2, 1945. So incredibly, the people extra it on abode. =]

Well we defeated Japan With the Atomic Bomb because they surrendured. And in Germanys case I'm thinking it was the death of Hitler. No one wanted to follow him in the first place so when he died they just stopped doing what they were doing. Hope I helped. =)
