Sounds like you could do these things before, so have you tried rebooting?
Otherwise, go to Start, select Control Panel, click on Sounds and Audio Devices to check if you have accidentally muted the sound. Go to Network Connections to check upload speed, etc.

Do you have a soundcard? If yes then did you disable your onboard sound in the CMOS setup when you boot your computer? If you do not have a soundcard then it is a most likely a software problem and a program you are using that uses sound isn't configured correctly.
If you did disable your onboard sound then the same problem may be to blame (Software). I would check the documentation for the software.

Make sure everything is pluged in and sound isn't muted. If that still doesn't work your sound card may ahve problems. Make sure it is connected to your computer properly. You can also try going to Control Panel, and clicking Sounds and Audio Devices.

Hi.
try right clicking my computer/click properties/hardware/device manager/ open sound video/double click your audio driver make sure that use this device (enable) is selected,if it is try troubleshoot to see if there are any problems, just wondered have you upgraded your driver if so try rollback.
