Or do they only come with the 3 hole pattern for their own boards?

umm all bindings now have 4 holes in the base plate if thats what you mean you just dnt need to use all of them but i would

if ur gettin new bindings get the rome 390s (great for the price)

Typically a 3-hole pattern, which is why people tend to buy Burton bindings when they buy a Burton board, because the bindings fit the board, and normally ride the best together. (Burton boards with Burton bindings.)
