I have been on my period for 2 days now, and have been in nothing more than excrutiating pain! Normally taking an ibuprofen 800 has helped, or even midol, but nothing is working... I can't sleep casue they keep me up... My boyfriend was trying to rub my stomach to help, but it just made it worse... I have been feeling like I'm gonna vomit, I was real bad nervous and shaking bad earlier today... has this happened to anyone else? If so, what did you do? What should I do?

*shiver* This is de ja vu! I was like this once upon a time, ten days each month. I would take so many pain killers that I would start to pass out and the pain would bearly even be numbed. I would shake, vomit and cry, it was so horrible to be in such agonising and uncontrollable pain.
Hot showers, baths and water bottles will help relax you and temporarily numb the pain.
I was prescribed Ponstan, a drug that specifically reduces menstrual bleeding and cramps. It did help me.
I eventually went on the birth control pill. This brought my periods under complete control. There was far less cramping, they would arrive on a parlicular day and I would know exactly when they would end.
I now take the hormonal tablets continually without the 7 day placebo break so that I do not even get a period. I am so much healthier and happier now.
So thats a few options for you to think about. Also instead of your bf massaging you, ask him to lightly run his finger tips over your belly, round in circles. This gentle tickling ofter relaxes and relieves pain.
One last very important thing...If this period is noticeably more severe, go to a doctor NOW. A friend of mine got a worse than usual period with heavier bleeding and nauseia. It turned out she had a very nasty infection in an ovary....so please got to a doctor!
Good luck, and I hope I have helped!

I know what you mean about having the period cramp the way you do.First thing is you need to call your doctor and tell them whats going on so they can make sure your ok.And even though its gross look out for big clots or anything not normal when you go to the bathroom. If your sexually active then it might be possible thatyou might be having a miscarriage. Please check with your doctor.Don't waste anytime.Take a home pregnancy test if you want to be certain.Pee in a cup so no blood gets on the test.If you are having a miscarriage then you can tell the doctor right away. And whatever do you make sure to drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated.I really hope you get better soon. And I hope its just a bad period and nothing more.I have 4 kids and I am 26 yrs old.I know what its like.

I got on the pill. ALL of my periods were like that. From the I started at age 10. It sucked. I got on the pill and no horrible cramps. I actually used to throw up, I got the poops, and couldn't eat or sleep. And if I could sleep it was in 1/2 hour spurts.
Or, try moving. Go for a walk, or run. Do housework. Just get moving. It really is the only thing that helps immediately.

Why do you continue to suffer like this? You need to see your GYN specialist ASAP. Until then, Ibuprofen 800mg & warm compress may help. If the pain is really bad then go to the ER. You need to be examined so they can find out whats wrong with you and you can start feeling better. A condition called Endometriosis causes severe pain during menstruation. Something else that needs to be ruled out is PID or Pelvic Inflammatory Disease which also causes severe pain. An ovarian cyst could also be the culprit. You need to be seen by a doctor. The sooner you go, the sooner you'll start feeling better.

I had the same problem, my cramps were so bad that I'd cry and lay in bed for hours practically pulling my hair out. I have found no medicine that helps the pain. The only thing that had helped me is getting on birth control. I still get cramps, but NOTHING like before. I felt like the doctors I talked to asking for better pain killers didn't take me seriously enough and thought that I was exaggerating. Seriously, try getting on the pill if you aren't. It's the only thing that helped me.

oh you poor lass. Does it just happen during your period? The contraceptive pill can often reduce menstrual pain. Would you consider it? Are your periods regular - it not don't rule out endometriosis, which are cysts on the uterus and can be painful. For a lot of pain you can take paracetamol and ibuprifen together without causing harm - though dont overdo the dosage. Try rubbing a bit of lavender essential oil into the painful area and using a hot water bottle (careful it's not too hot). I hope this helps

You should consult your OB-GYN doctor.
You should be checked to rule out ENDOMETRIOSIS.
This is a medical condition that can cause your symptoms. It is when you have endometrial growth(the tissue that lines your uterus) OUTSIDE of the uterus. It can be found sometimes in the abdominal cavity, on the ovaries, the lining of the abdominal wall, etc. This can be excruciatingly painful.
It does not sound like an ovarian cyst that has ruptured because you say it happens with each period?
You need to see a doctor. There are treatments for this( if that is what it is).
Get a diagnosis from a qualified physician!!!

You should see your doctor. There may be a different medication that might help. Some women go on the pill to ease cramps, it usually works. You don't mention your age or if you are on the pill, but it might be something to discuss with your doctor. Then the doctor can help you discuss it with your parents if you're young. I used to get really bad, like yours. My daughter did too. Going on the pill helped both of us. Good luck.

This used to happen to me too...I was in incredible pain, shaking, crying, and it did actually cause me to vomit. I couldn't even move. The only thing that ended up helping me was going on birth control, now I get very little if any cramps. Are you on the pill now? If you are already on it see your gyno. ASAP because it could be something else that is causing these painful cramps.
Hope this helps!!! Feel better!!!
