Yes, it works very well if the equipment is good and the practioner knows what they are doing. I had it done 6 years ago and the hair is still all gone. It is also a very simple procedure and you are not given anesthesia though you may fall asleep.

The cost is dependent on the size of the area. You can expect it to cost somewhere between $30 and $500 per treatment visit. Just make sure you go to a reputable location with a lot of experience (own their own laser) and that the technology is fairly new. Other than that the procedure is safe.

The attached sites have more information on the procedure and the technology. You can also call 888.517.4187 for prices in your area.

The cheapest quote I've had was $100 for one treatment and you need 3-6 of those that you get once a month. You're awake, both you and the person doing the procedure wear goggles. If you have a hormonal problem, you should see an endocrinologist first or it would be a complete waste to get laser hair removal as the hair would just come right back. People with dark hair and light skin have the best results. You would also have to wait 6 weeks after waxing and avoid chocolate or caffeine 1-2 days before getting the removal. If you would like a quick or cheaper method, I would recommend the Emjoi Gently Gold Caress Epilator, which you could get for the lowest price at http://www.goodmans.net/item.asp?n=EM-AP9GAR&k=EM-AP9GAR&sc=trfl

If you request an anesthetic they may give it to you and aloe vera gel. It didn't hurt for me unless it's its in sensitive areas like your underarms it just felt like little pinches.

It works. I suppose you could fall asleep if you're bored, but most people stay awake. It's quite expensive - exactly how much depends on how much you're getting done and where you get it done.
