Korea, Vietnam, Lebanon, etc.......Republican!

The truth hurts. The Republicans, for one reason or another, have done more "cut and runs" than any political party in modern history.

I like the answerer who claimed we didn't get into WW II when we could of beaten Hitler easily.

I guess he doesn't realize that between the World Wars,we had the smallest military in the Western World, mainly because Republicans like President Herbert Hoover insisted a large military wasn't needed, that our Navy would keep us safe.

Nixon forced the North and South Vietnamese to negotiate a peaceful solution by first bombing Hanoi and then threatening South Vietnam with an end to American aid.

The Paris Peace Accords on 'Ending the War and Restoring Peace in Vietnam' were signed on 27 January, 1973.

The balance of power that made peace possible was Nixon's promise to support South Vietnam with airpower to enforce the agreement therefore keeping a North Vietnamese invasion at bay.

In December 1974, the Democratic majority in Congress passed the Foreign Assistance Act of 1974, which cut off all military funding to the South Vietnamese government and made unenforceable the peace terms negotiated by Nixon.

On 30 April 1975 Saigon fell to the North Vietnamese.

The party of "Big Business". They own it all and are frustrated that there isn't more to cut and run with.

And by the way, Nixon was an opponent of the Vietnam War, ever heard of Vietnamization and American withdrawal, 1969–1973; well I guess not. Nixon tried diligently to get us out of the war with his "peace with honor" campaign of 1968 but because of the media circus on how the US population didn't support the war, China and NV wouldn't budge on terms. Some of you folks are really ignorant of these types of questions and should just comment; "I don't know" and get your 2 points.

Compared to the presidents since Nixon he was a da*n good president. He got in trouble because in the early 70's the typical lies, theft and by outs by Big Business wasn't business as usual to politician as it has been since Carter fumbled his way through the Presidency.

Korea? Sorry. The US comprises the largest troop faction amongst the DMZ enforcement forces on the South's side of the border. You need to rethink that one.

Lebanon? Where was the war in Lebanon, involving US troops? We lost a Marines barracks one night, but that wasn't a war.

Etc... Like Grenada? I think that was Cuba who cut and ran. Like Panama? No. Sorry. We got what we went for (Noriega) in that one, too. In the Balkans? Sorry. Didn't happen, again.

Please stop, while you are ahead of yourself.

And as to who invented cutting and running? That is an age old tactic preceeding the Roman Empire. That means the Republicans didn't invent it. Try again.

Republicans were the architects of that policy. They never have served in any major wars outside of the drafted WWII. Taxes always made up their minds to run from these wars in the end, when they had to pay for them.

The Democrats cut off the funding in Nam, just like they want to do now.
NOT ONLY DO DEMOCRATS SURRENDER, They Support The Enemy.
The Unbathed Hippies Still Control The Democrat Party.

Meh. Both sides use it equally. In other countries it's called 'withdrawal' and left at that, with no playground name-calling and taunting.

Great point. From looking at Newt, Foley and Haggard, they also invented debauchery.
