This is not your fault! You are a true friend who will stand up for people being bullied or treated unjustly. Only a nutter will hit someone out of pure spite. There is no other reason.

The police need to be involved. The chances are she has done this sort of thing before, and she is known to them. Even if she isn't, she will get a police record, a restraining order, and it will go against her in any future incident. Not with your friend again, I hope, but with the next poor soul she decides to pick on. (Let's hope not, but that is the sort of nutter she is) Plus the fact word will get round, and no-one will want to be friends with her.

Stick in your friend's corner, she will need a lot of support to regain her confidence. Involve other friends to rally round her so she won't feel entirely alone. The police will also put her in touch with a victim's support group. Maybe you could both go to a self-defence class? That is the best boost in confidence.

You are blameless. We could all do with you for a friend! xxx

ok first of all stop calling the nutter 'friend', she clearly isnt one, secondly get your friend to press charges with the police and request a restraining order, moving house would also probably be a reallygood idea - then the nutter wouldnt know where she stays
be there for her and make sure she feels safe enough to leave her own house, if not try and make sure that she has someone with her when she is dropping the kids off at school and doing her shopping

i really hope the nutter gets whats coming ot her

I hope your nice friend called the police about it, especially because there was a child present. If not, she should still do it.
Now you know the nutter is a bad person and you won't have anything to do with her any more. If you think she might beat you up, be careful not to be alone when she's around, so you will have a witness if she attacks you.

That is out of order especially if the nutter done that in front of your friends son, if i were you id give the nutter a right good beating and not speak to her again! As for the nice friend take her out for dinner or do something to give her a treat go to a spa or something and relax?

I dont think it's your fault. but I'd get the nice friend to go to the police.
That's not right. ppl like that need to be punished.
She has kids she need to protect them. Atleast get a restraining order on that person

Damage is done, hope you learned your lesson - best you can do is apologize and beg forgiveness - next time mind your own business OR confront the bad mouth yourself - that way YOU can get the smacking!!!! It never ceases to amaze me how careless people are when they choose to spread bad feelings around....
