Touches the soul. Breaks through all barriers you have for all the things in life that hurt you. But just like a child's laughter art can touch your heart and soul.

The power of art for the artist is that one can express feelings , emotions, and thoughts through art, and alot of the time only the artist can truly know the hidden meanings, stories or emotions behind the piece. Many people misinterpret what an artist may be trying to say. The power is also in the beauty of the piece- the interest it can draw so silently from most of the human race. Be it said bad or good remarks of the piece...it still silently drew attention.

I don't think it's so much the art that is powerful. When we connect with it whether it be a sculpture,a painting ,music whatever... we give it it's power. The more people that appreciate it,the more powerful it gets

Just by looking at it, changes or extentuates your mood. makes your sorrows seem so far away. Or your pain is minimal compared to what you see in the painting. Beautiful paintings, creative paintings, make you wonder what higher power gave these people, these artists the mind to create masterpieces. When i see beauty and creativity in art i feel like not just anyone can do these paintings, makes you have faith in people, that there are masters out there. cheers

when i see something moving, i feel a chill down my spine. it's a total feeling of calm just by what you perceive it
what makes art powerful is opinion, but to me, something that makes time seem to stand still when you first see it makes it something worth having around
art isn't just paintings either, it's music its dance its plays and sculptures its the same to me with these. if you never get tired of these and are simply in love with them, the influence of this art is very powerful

This poem is a good example of powerful and the answer is in it
Young, old, short, tall,
Blonde, brunette, big, small.
Doesn't matter, men want us all.
Once those magic words pass our lips.
"I am a belly dancer," I let slip.
Men reassess my charms, just can't resist.
Former disinterest turns to lust.
My head on their wall is now a must.
Drooling Neanderthals turned lecherous.
Judgmental eyes that couldn't see past "fat,"
recircuit image. Seems "voluptuous" is where it's at.
Total one-eighty! How do they do that?
I desire to be loved for who I am, that's good,
not stereotyped by director's fantasy or falsehood.
Thanks to all the misled fools in Hollywood.
I vow not to let ignorance or prejudice get me down
or give credence to lusting or preaching clowns.
Instead bask in the wonder of the sisterhood I have found.
I dance for myself, as do each of the others;
and afterwards, glowing beneath our modest covers,
we ignore the fools who fall at the feet of the Goddesses.
Because young, old, short, tall,
blonde, brunette, big, small,
this ancient art is power for one and all.

It's the conveyence of personal emotion. Behind every piece of art; be it sculpture, painting or written word, are emotions born to bring forth the artist's emotions.
