Bugs have to breathe to stay alive.
Before you spend several dollars or pounds, on chemicals... try this:
1. Make a thick soapy liquid from dishwashing soap and a little water.
2. Put the thicker-than-normal water into a spray bottle. You can temporarily empty out another cleaning product spray bottle.
3. SPRAY those bugs with a mist. Don't flood them with dripping water. Just mist them from 12 inches away.
The soap will dry on their bodies and prevent them from breathing through their sides (not their mouths.. not like animals). They will die from soap in one day. The soap will not hurt any roses or cost you any money.
Lady bugs will never eat enough aphids to make a diff.

I never spray my roses and have about 50. If you spray with chemicals it upset the ecology of the garden. My bugs are all eaten by their natural predators, except for the odd grasshopper that I remove by hand. If you spray all the time you keep the cycle broken, by killing both the good and the bad. I find if I have aphids, I spray them off by using the spray from the hose (do this in the morning so the leaves have time to dry during the day, helps with fungal disease). I do this for a couple of days and then I find the lady bugs and praying mantis come in and finish the job for me. The predators seem to take a bit longer to catch up on them. That's it; they all seem to get eaten and I don't worry to the next attack a month or two later. I also have a lot of bird life and this is so easy and non- toxic.

If you want to use spray, otherwise get some lady bugs. They love aphids. I am sure it is these that are eating your roses they love roses.
If you do have a aphids problem you will notice ants around your roses too. Ants milk aphids like we do cattle. They take care of the aphids. Kill the ants and the aphids, works for us and our roses.
If you want to go the chemical route there is a powder out there you can dust your roses with.
Good luck and I hope everyones roses are glorious these year! I love roses....

this manner of malicious program makes a distinction. at the same time as you may spray BT on the roses and which will damage maximum insects, you want to understand if it earwigs (meaning you want to freshen up the floor more beneficial) or eastern beetles (possibly carry a pheremone capture on the different area of the backyard), or some thing else. that's sturdy to in undemanding words kill off what you hate, and not in any respect take out the bees and butterflies if you're at it.
