does anyone feel like that? I don't think it has sunk in yet. And, when other women start talking about their pregnancy experience, I just want to run! What is with that? I feel like a pitt viper waiting to devour it's young... when does the motherly instinct kick in? Is this NORMAL? I kinda feel bad, but not really... what is this about?

Very normal. I felt that way too. I felt like I wasnt excited enough or didnt love my baby enough. But it wasnt that way. It just felt unreal at first. Trust me this will change a lot once you hear your babys heart beat, and then see your baby on ultro sound for the first time, and feel it moving around.

You're only 7 weeks along. You've yet to see your belly grow or feel your baby move... so it can feel like it's not real or like it's happening to someone else, just like you describe. You are not a pitt viper waiting to devour it's young. hahahah! Crack me up. The maternal instinct does kick in later. I felt detached for some time into my pregnancy. I think that's normal.

Congrats and best wishes.

It's called shock, my dear! I felt the same way. I didn't even really believe I was preggers until I was almost 4 months and started to show. Right now your hormones are going crazy and it does mess with your brain quite a bit. The motherly instinct may not arrive until that baby pops out! Mine didn't!

HI,

This is normal, because of your hormones. Hormones do strange things to people! You probably scared, ansious and happy all in one.

It may also be cause you are only 7 weeks. Wait a little longer then it will all kick in that you aer pregnant and you will enjoy the experience.

I'm 24 weeks and sometimes I still don't feel pregnant or motherly... Now the baby is moving more I find myself being a lot more momish! But it's natural to not feel different!
