virtual memory is RAM (Random Acces Memory). This happens if you are playing games without saving once in a while, working with, and editing pictures, and having things out on your desktop, that are unsaved. Virtual memry is the memory that erases whenever you restart your computer. I sugest you buy more. There is a slot in your PC/Mac/Whatever where you can add more. 512mb of RAM recomended.

Bjorn is correct.
If you take stuff off the hard drive, by copying it to CD then your virtual memory will increase. many times you get that warning when running a few programs at a time, each program uses up some of the memory and there is less to work with. buying RAM should fix this. but as long as you have 512mb these days you should be ok, just don't open too many things at the same time.

Virtual memory is a small amount of space on your hard drive dedicated for holding the overflow of data that your physical memory cannot handle. Virtual memory is very different than RAM.
You can increase the amount of virtual memory on the machine, but it would not give you a performance increase.
To increase the amount allocated for virtual memory go to "system" properties in the control panel. Once there, go to the "advanced" tab and then to the performance settings button.
You do not want to allocate too much for virtual memory, I suggest no more than 2-3 times the amount of physical memory that is installed.

make sure you have atleast double the size of RAM, as free space in your operating system installed HD drive. I you are using windows XP it automatically frees up RAM. But for older OS, try using a RAM freeing software.
This error comes when you are using high memory consuming softwares like image editing and all. Try quitting these programs then there wont be any problem.
Always better to have atleast 128 MB of physical RAM in your computer

who/what is it? your question is ambiguous.
virtual memory refers to your pagefile which is related to your RAM.
but, since you are talking about copying photos to a cd, maybe it's your hard disk that is running low on space. however, in today's world, that usually doesn't happen

I just recently had the same problem and my computer was running very slow, I added more memory to it.---- go to www.crucial.com and you can run a test to see what your memory is and what they would suggest as to what to buy for more memory. It's very, very easy to add the memory to your computer!
