My wife was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis when she was 8. She has been receiving SS benefit payments since she was 18 (I assume prior to that it went to her parents). She is now 34 and currently receives $560 per month. Our 2 kids also receive a small payment ($160 combined per month). I make too much money for her to qualify for SSI. She is a happy stay-at-home Mom.

It depends on many factors.
First of all, what country are you in? If you're in the U.S., the Social Security Administration should be able to tell you.
I've been on disability for quite a while now. Let me know if I can help.

contact your local department for work and pensions and they should give you a telephone number or address to write to... i think it is about 62pounds a week..my daughter has down syndrome and is eligible for a higher rate because at the moment she needs full time care..but my partner works so she may of been entitled to more if he did not? there is a website dwp.co.uk that you can find out about disability claims
