My answer from another question about this...

Plame was not a covert agent.
In her testimony when asked if she was ever informed that her status was covert, she admitted that neither before nor after the incident that this has all been about was she ever
once told she was a covert agent.

The law covering covert agents requires that her status be officially stated as covert in order to actually be a covert agent. Again, as she admitted herself she was never told she was covert.

Plame's previous boss also stated that at the time she became engaged to Wilson that the high profile status of their engagement compromised her chances of being given a covert status.

Plame was working at deskjob in middle management at Langely. Contrary to what someone else said about the CIA being spies, only a very small amount of CIA employees are covert, spies etc.... most of them work in an office doing nothing covert at all.

There is 0 nada, none, nein ... case for outting a CIA agent, as she coudlnt have been outted.
Are you all clear about this??

NO . Anyone going to a Dilbert cube at CIA hdqts everyday at Langley is a bureaucrat not a covert operative. The only undercover work this bubble headed blonde did was in her bedroom giving her husband a few BJ's under the covers before he went on his bogus fact finding trip to Niger.

Yea, covert NOT Undercover. The Intel Undercover Act applies to "Undercover" agents Not covert. Good play on words by her attorney though.

According the the live coverage of the Congressional hearings on CSPAN, her status was "covert" and she was definitely under the protection of that status.

Even if her "covert" status was only due to the confidentiality of the information she was privy to, that could endanger her and her family and make her a target since she worked in the division that covered the acquisition of nuclear materials.
At any rate, it cost her her job.

If she was, why nobody has been charged with leaking her name? she really wasn't a covert operative, but instead was pushing pencils at Langley. she posed for a photo spread in Vanity Fair, and wasn't too concerned about her identity being exposed.

Yes she was covert. Repuglicans can deny it all they want but facts are facts. You can't change facts.
