I just got accepted into UNC Chapel Hill, and while it is a big relief, Id like to know some people's personal experiences about going there, studying, greek life, etc.

Thanks!

I went to undergrad at UNC - chapel hill. Overall I enjoyed my experience very much. If you are not currently a basketball fan, you will quickly become one. You will develop an inexplicable hatred for Duke. I wasn't into the Greek scene, but it seemed that about 25 to 30 percent of students participated in frats/sororities. Franklin street is all you could ask for in a college town, although I prefer chapel -hill's edgier counterpart, Carboro. However, I am from New York State and I did feel like an outsider in the south. UNC is mostly instate residents, who as freshmen tend to hang out with the people they went to high school with.
Studying - UNC student's are very diligent, and on an average weekday you will find near 100 students in the undergraduate library at 4:30 am.
But depending on where you are coming from will have an impact on what you think about chapel hill.
Some of the older professors at UNC still refer to the Civil War as the "War of Northern Aggression".

i favor to be brutally frank about my prognosis of your possibilities for UNC -Chapel Hill. many of the products that you reported above are fantastic. you've a lengthy and acceptable list of more beneficial-curricular and volunteeactivitiesies with distinct them exhibiting administration positions.Your activity in drugs is sturdy that you've shown. you also practice a sturdy favor for social justice and willingness to help others. some admission officials will look down upon the various activities that you've and imagine that you're nconcentrated going from one to a distinct as a attitude to scoring factors on your college application. Your GPA, ACT and SAT are low compared to the entering into scholars at UNC indicating that your tutorial accomplishments at the prompt are not sturdy. Your 9 college credit is sturdy. i imagine that you're sensible in grouping your achievements into diverse varieties as an instance that you at the prompt are not as splintered as apparently. See in case you may strengthen your rankings. Take the SAT II exams and do not put in the names of the universities until eventually when you note the outcomes. follow to UNC and desire for the finest. sturdy success.
