there was a 200 million dollar winner in missouri a few weeks ago and an 183 million dollar winner in oregon last saturday. hope springs eternal.

It only costs $1 and you can win over 100 million. They just want to be able to dream about it. Without purchasing a ticket there is absolutely no chance of winning. I know that the odds of winning are about the same as finding money that fell out of an armored truck.

I don't know. I suppose they want to get the American Dream by buying them. Problem is that they get addicted to the gambling and start spending rent and food money on the tickets and make the strain on the tax payers more burdensome than it already is. I know a man who got addicted to gambling and embezzled money from the company he worked for so he could keep gambling and buying lottery tickets to try and find that illusive ticket that would make him a millionaire. What a shame.

I guess they think they have a chance to "win the big one". The truth is a lottery is VOLUNTEER TAXATION and that is all it is. If someone did "win the big one". he/she would pay 39% to the IRS plus taxes to the state for where they live. The "big one" doesn't sound so good now, does it???
