no need for another mother unless she refuses to care for them.

since she has so many, she will feel some added stress to feed & care for them. make sure she has plenty of bedding. give her some plain, unscented(scott) toilet paper she can shred herself. do not wake her, bother her, or try to hold the babies. don't clean the cage except for any really bad pee corners. don't even touch the cage the first 10 days. stress is what causes them to eat their babies & also causes wettail. unfortunately 22 isn't normal & it's likely she will kill some.

u should make sure she has additional food for herself & them. u can add some wheatgerm and cheese for addded protein. give them some hardboiled egg. throw out any they dont eat within a few hours. a little shredded carrot and some uncooked otameal for the babies. make sure she has plenty of fresh water in her bottle. make sure the babies can reach it if they are a week old.

at 4 weeks separate all the males from the females. u don't need more babies so u must. at 7-8 weeks they will ALL need separate cages assuming they are syrian & not dwarf. syrians are loners & very territorial & will kill others. so by 8 weeks unless u have 22 cages---23 with mom--- time to give them away or take to the local petstore or humane society.

please keep dad in his own cage, permanently. at 4 weeks make sure ALL of the boys and girls are separate.

Ive never had great luck in fostering hamster babies to another mom and wouldn't attempt it unless it was an emergency. Hamsters can start eating at a very young age. I'd take a small piece of bread, about 1/4 slice, put warm milk ontop of it and show the babies where the bread is at. (set it on a flat dish, slightly dip their mouth in it) Once they dip their nose in the milk bread, they will try to eat it. They don't even have to have their eyes open yet! Milk bread is good for Momma also. That's alot of babies, but with your assistance in the additional milk bread, you have a good chance with them.

Don't touch them! She'll eat them! If she gets stressed or overwhelmed by her children, get another hamster mother for the babies.

Let the real mother take care of them.alot of animals wouln't take care of another's young and sometimes they will become canables(eat them).Chances are not all of them will make it but thats just natures selection.o and make sure u isolate the mother and babys from any males especially the father b/c they will eat the babies.

the mother will eat them if they are sick or if she knows they're not gonna survive. dont give them to another hamster mother becuase she might abandon them or eat them. leave the babies alone and the mother until they are weaned because the mom will eat all of htem if you touch them. this happened to one of my friends, they all touched the babies and the mom started eating all of them.

foster moms don't really work well. keep an eye on them she will probably eat them. you can always foster them your self. bottle feed them a suppliment. keep all of them in a seperate cage. not a big one just the travel ones you get for like 5 bucks. the pet store could tell you what kind of supplement to use i used kitten formula on my litter of rats and they are not much differant from hamsters. definatly seperate them from daddy.

After they are weaned take them away from the mom untill they're older because she may eat them!!!

She probably will.
If not get another hamster mom to help.
