Is that enough of a reason for me to be able to get out of my lease?

I don't want to live in a building where people are robbing apartments all the time.

no but once the lease is up.. you are free to motivate yourself out of that situation.

you can request things though.. such as new locks.. another lock.. more dead bolts.. it's your right.

:"D

but let the lease fulfill.. most don't like the idea of tenants leaving before a contract is complete, just doesn't look good on paper.

You'll have to look at your lease for the details, but you cannot break your lease because other apartments are getting robbed. You may be able to give your landlord notice that you are leaving and pay a fee to get out of your lease early. Typically, they would require a 30 day notice and charge one additional months rent and possibly keep your security deposit.

If you can prove negligence on the part of the landlord, you may be able to get out of the lease sooner and with less fees, but it is very hard to prove negligence.

Good luck.

You have every right to forget about the lease and leave. The longer you stay the better your chance of being next. I would go over your lease with a fine tooth comb. Then notify them in
writing and by certified mail. I would forget that place and leave.

No, that in itself is not reason to break your lease.
