i used my windows xp media center disc that i had lieing around to try and use that and see if it resolved some of my issues. installed it and am using it now by one question i have it WHERE IS MEDIA CENTER, on my other pc's it right on the quick launch, not there, so i tryed program files not there, so i searched for it NOT THERE. Can anyone help me

no i know it is, because when i was setting it up in the begging it said xp media center and when i go to system information it says media center. But another question is....When i began the install it said version 2005 and now when i go to system information it says version 2002.

Are you sure you installed it?
If so then i would recommend clicking Start>Help and typeing Media Center there. It should tell you alternative ways of activating Media Center. Also you might check out the link below.

Have you used this disk before, and know it is really a MCE
disk? It might just be XP.
Or maybe a corrupt install, reinstall again.
