Hey guys- be nice...I'm not making 70k...it's just how I asked the question...this was my first time on Yahoo! Answers and I wanted to try it out with a question that popped into my head. It's disturbing how many of you answering are jerks...geez...you wouldn't talk to someone like that in person.

You shouln't be asking this question if you're making 70K a year, dude.

BUT.... just for fun...
1. Pull out a calculator
2. type in 70000
3. type in +
4. type 4.5
5. type %

It will equal 73150.

Or, for fun, you can multiply.... 70000*0.045=3150+70000=73150

Regardless of how you do it, a person whose pulling in almost 6 grand a month (pre-tax) should be able to do simple math that they teach you in sixth grade..... unless you ARE in sixth grade and this is a homework question. If you are and this is, it should be in homework.

multiply your 70,000 by 1.045 then you will get your answer.
Its an easy calculation anything before the point is a make up of 100 % so .01 is 1% so .04 is 4% and the 5 which is the third digit before the point is the 1/2 % so if you put any two numbers before the point that will give you, your increase % wise. so 1.50 x 70,000 would give you a 50% increase. Hope this has helped.

No offense, but if you're making 70K, you should be able to calculate a simple percent.

I agree with all the rest of the answers. How did you manage to get that job?

$73,150. Why is anyone paying you $70k if you can't figure a percentage?

$3150.00 per year = $73150.00
Hint- take your wage and multiply it by 4.5
