My husband is suing the company he is currently working for. His boss not only cussed and threatened his job constantly(his whole group also) but threw him against a wall, threw coins in his face in a fit of rage, hit him and other male workers in the balls, forked the breasts of a female worker and was sleeping(married by the way)with the women in HR so if you reported him you were laid off at the next go around---9 years of that. Feel better? The management knew and he has already been reprimanded for sexual assault before. They did nothing! This is a worldwide company by the way.Yes, my husband is also suing him! Nice way to work, huh? It climaxed with him bringing hollow point bullets to work (guns were in his trunk-hubby saw them). This man is a danger and no one did a thing-your situation is a piece of cake. BUT! Don't put up with anything! If that job is wrong-get another. If the manager is doing something wrong-report it!

I have a very difficult boss right now. She's really really rich and just took over the place I work. She has absolutely no idea of how to run it and she's slowly running it in to the ground. She doesn't listen to a word anyone says but eventually comes to the same conclusions, after having thrown away thousands on needless work hours. The most painful part is that I can see where and how her money goes straight in to the garbage and I'm a poor student. I could live so well on that money. I'm really looking hard for another job but I don't know if I can make it until I finally find one.

There's not enough room in the answer box to tell you my stories! Yes, twice. The really bad thing was I quit one horrible job/boss and the next job I landed was exactly the same way. I only stayed a month. And yes, I felt bad because I'm not a quitter, but you know what? Our jobs are 1/3 of our day(or more). It's important to be somewhat happy. A bad boss or coworker can make your life miserable and you have every right to seek ways to change it. Good for you on recognizing that it probably wasn't going to get better and taking action!

Never give a boss or co worker the satisfaction of seeing you lose your livelihood because they drove you away. There are ways and means to get around that. Remember everyone has a boss. Let your issue be know by going up the Chain of Command. If it cannot be handled there take it up a notch.
If the company in general refuses to help you... go to The EEOC in your area. They will resolve it once you report it. The company may not like it but... they wouldn't help remember.
There is also the Department of Labor and Department of Human Rights. Use them! That's what their job is... to help you.
Of course if it's not worth the time and effort you always have the option to QUIT!

Many people quit in these situations without realising they have rights under law.
Every employer has a duty of care with respect to their employee's. If you felt you couldn't face work then essentially you were suffering from work related stress you should have had this confirmed by the doctor.
You should have also spoken to your responsible HR advisor and given them the opportunity to ensure the problem was attended too.
If this failed to yield satisfactory results then they may have failed in their duty of care. It also becomes an issue of "constructive dismissal" meaning that their treatment of you was such that your working conditions became unbearable. You would be entitled to significant compensation, you may still be able to bring such action even though you have left.
I would advise you to consult your union representative if your not in a union then join a good one external to the company. Most companies are terrified of unions and the possibility that the union may bring the practices into a public forum or tribunal.

I think a jerk boss is the reason 99% of people quit...my old boss was doing a co-worker....She would get jealous of me if I was talking to her "man"...even if it was about work related things...one day him and I were discussing something totally work related and she overheard me laugh about something and she comes running over and says "Hey you need to go clean the bathroom" She was such a witch!

There is a hall of fame for bad bosses and/or coworkers. You can find internet sites devoted to them, like bad bosses.net or bigbadboss.com.
Read those stories, realize yours isn't really all that bad, laugh about it, find a new job and put it behind you. Success really is the best revenge!

Dont feel bad AT ALL....I was just thinking this morning that I want to quit because of my co-worker. I share an office with someone who has no manners and does speak good english....(HELP ME). This guy is new to the company and im training him dispatch. I always have to repeat myself in how to do certain things. He chews with his mouth open and makes annoying sounds. OMG....he swears he is funny. So if u think ur the only one with bad co-workers think again!!!

Most jobs that I have had, had bad bosses, but you shouldn't feel like its your fault. If you can't work for him, then don't!
