What do you think of the comunication down, Today? And what do you think about them joining At&t , Bellsouth? So does this mean your home phone and cell will both go down when they have a problem? Well it did today! That totally sucks to have no phone. This just freaks me out for nothing to work for 3 hours. What about the people that needed 911 ? They couldnt call them even. Sorry to rave but they need to do something about this. Maybe they bit off more than they can chew with adding Bellsouth and At&t.

I live in Texas, but my daughter is a Cingular customer at Northwestern State Univ. in Natchitoches, LA. You actually answered a question for me. I have been trying to get ahold of my daughter unsuccessfully and thanks to you now I know why. At least I know she wasn't just avoiding my calls. I agree with you that maybe Cingular took on more than they can handle. Of course as with any computerized network, any time you add upgrades or do major changes, it locks the system up for regular use until the changes have been input into the system. Just hang in there for a little while before giving up. Once they get everything together, they will probably be a good service again. If not, then by all means, switch services, but ask around and research first so you don't end up with an even worse service. I can tell you that at least between Many and Natchitoches, LA, Verizon wireless service is not good. My daughter had a Verizon phone and ended up mailing it to me because the rare times she could even get a signal, it was roaming. (It works great in East Texas where I am, though.)

About 911, well, that is serious. I can handle a couple of days of not being able to call my daughter, but if she has an emergency she cannot call 911 and that bothers me! She is 19 years old and certainly well capable of taking care of herself, but in an emergency, she would not be able to get help if all she had to depend on was a Cingular phone. Hopefully anyone needing 911 can find someone with another type of phone so they can get through.
