I dont think it will make it thiner, but thicker, save some money for laser hair removal. Or just keep waxing no one will ever know.

No, the hairs will grow back just as they were. Waxing removes the hair root, but it doesn't affect the hair folicle, which actually creates the hair. It will take time to grow back, but the hair will be exactly the same as it was before.

Electrolysis actually damages the follicle, so that the hair stops growing, or is thinner, but that is very expensive, very painful, and comes with medical risks including permanent scarring.

Shaving does NOT make hair thicker. You are only removing the dead outer hair with the blade, and not touching the root, so shaving has no effect on the way the hair re-grows.

The hair you have now is what you would have gotten whether you shaved or not.

I too shaved when I was in high school. What a stupid mistake. Yes, over time it will take the hair longer to grow. It does take several visits before you really start to notice the hair taking longer to grow. I am a super-spanish wookie so that is my personal experience. I had a polish friend who waxed once and it took over a month before hair started to pierce from the skin. Mine started about a week and a half later.

Make sure you scrub your skin in the shower real good to prevent ingrown hairs. And make sure they don't heat up the wax too much. Twice the first spa I went to did that chit, and I broke out with body pimples like I was on steroids. Tip good, once you find the right spa, they will treat you like gold (i.e they'll press your skin with their hand after yanking to make the sting subside much faster, they'll use high quality wax instead of 'el cheap-o' stuff).

Plucking (tweezing), Shaving, Depilatory creams and Waxing are temporary hair removal methods.
Waxing usually lasts for 3 weeks, but it is painful.

I believe that waxing (or any form of hair removal that works by pulling it out by the roots) does thin out hair, but it takes years. If you want to get rid of it altogether, I would suggest talking to someone about electrolysis or laser hair removal, and which would be better for you.

Good luck.
