Connect them both to the same computer. Boot off of the drive with Windows on it, and copy and paste the files over. Take out the unwanted drive(s) when you are done.

Hook both hard drives up to the same computer, then drag and drop the data you want to move.
Keep in mind though that most installed programs will no longer run if you do this, but any generic data such as video or music files will have no problems.

Hi. Install the larger drive with the jumper on the back set to 'SL'. Boot. The PC will detect the drive. Copy any files you want to the new drive.

There are many types of Hard Disks and Interfaces. It is kinda important to know what kind you are working with. Each has a unique way to do what you are asking. So i would ask:
1. What type of interface do they both have? (IDE, USB, SATA, SCSI, etc...)
2. Are they both pluged in and formated to run on your computer?
3. Does your computer recognize them both? (you can check this in the CMOS Setup which you enter as you boot your computer)
After i know all that i can tell you how.

1.Go buy an external hard drive case ($30)
2.Place the 40GB drive in the case
3.BLAM, you copy everything you want to the 120GB drive
Or you could just place the 120GB in the enclosure and use it as a portable drive, whichever is best for your situation
