Practically anything on the radio...I never listen to radio. Panic! At the Disco and Fall Out Boy are definitely overplayed, but I still like them. I think that it all depends on your musical tastes.
For example, I think Fergie is so overrated because I can't stand her voice, it's grating to my ears. But AFI is played a lot, but they're still one of my favorites.

well i listen to a lot of alternative rock and metal.
as for alternative, i'd have to say (people will hate me for this) Nirvana is very overrated. the only reason they blew up like they did is because of the death of their star when he was in his prime. its terrible to lose someone so talented, but if that band had come out now, they'd be one album wonders. grunge had a short period. sure they were good, but they aren't as godly as people make them out to be.

as for Metal, DragonForce is a very overrated band. they only reason people bow down to them is because they make their music rediculously fast. and in their videos, the action is sped up to make it look like they're moving faster than a human can actually go. the sound is so fast it can't be enjoyed, but people think that it's all skill. i agree that skill is important, but not if the music still sucks....

Coldplay. Snow Patrol. Razorlight. Fall Out Boy. Trivium. The Killers. And I love them, but Green Day too. There are probably more, but those are the ones that spring to mind.

I just really don't like the first two. Depressing voices, depressing music. The rest are all okay, just not worth all the raving people do over them.

The Arctic Monkeys. I am generally pleased that today's music consists of proper artists, however I cannot stand their sound. Bet you Look Good on the Dance floor is absolutely awful and this northern accent while singing (allegedly) also cheeses me off!

*Slipknot
*My Chemical Romance
*Fall Out Boy
*Kiss
*Panic at the disco

and many many more

and in response to the nirvana comment, the reason Nirvana was good was because Kurt Cobain was a brilliant song writer. he is not actually known for his guitar playing. a lot of people relate him to Bob Dylan. Bob Dylan was just mostly known for his song writing ability.
and yeah. he didn't kill himself. it was courtney love. check out the report written by Tom Grant online. it's very convincing.

Nirvana. The music wasn't much good, but then suddenly they're all awesome just because Kobain shot himself. That's not cool.

The Goldie Lookin' Chain might be crass but what they say is true:

The Rolling Stones.

They sound bloody awful, and Jagger can't sing a note.
